IBPS specialist officer exam pattern is nearly the same from the last year’s exam pattern. Although there have been few changes in the syllabus of IBPS specialist officer exam for the year 2018. IBPS SO VII admit card will be available from 10th December to be downloaded from the official website of IBPS. The exam date for the ibps SO prelims exam is on 30th and 31st December 2017 and the mains examination will be held on 28th January 2018.

IBPS Specialist Officer Exam

IBPS Specialist Officer Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern of IBPS SO is a two-tier exam which is followed by an interview. The first tier of the exam consists of a prelims round of exam while those who qualify the prelims round of specialist officer examination get a chance to appear for the second tier of the examination which consists of mains exam of IBPS SO. Only the candidate who gets qualifying marks at the mains examination will be able to appear for the interview round of IBPS SO exam.

Marks obtained in the prelims exam is only considered for the qualification and for the final merit list. The final merit list of ibps specialist officer is based on the marks obtained at the mains exam and at the interview round.

  2. Marketing Officer Scale I
  3. HR/Personnel Officer
  4. IT Officer Scale I
  5. Law Officer

IBPS so prelims exam is conducted in an online mode and there is slight of change in the pattern of examination for different posts. The time duration for ibps so prelims exam is of two hours.

IBPS Specialist Officer Exam Pattern: Mains

You will first need to appear for the prelims exam and need to qualify for the same.Mains examination is also an online based examination which is different for different posts. Main examination questions are based on professional knowledge of the candidate and vary for different posts.

IBPS Specialist Officer Exam Pattern: Interview

Upon clearing the mains exam, you become eligible for the interview. The interview is conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the nodal banks with the help of IBPS. The interview is of 100 marks.
The minimum qualifying marks in an interview should not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

Final merit list is made on the basis of the mains exam and the interview. The ratio of weightage of interview marks to the mains marks is of 80:20. For being selected as a Specialist Officer in the public sector bank you have to qualify for both exam – Written online exam as well as Interview and must score high on the merit list.
