The Common Written Exam or (CWE) is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection every year to fill up vacancies of Clerical Cadre in different banks of the country. It is one of the most reputed and sought after exams for those who want to make a career in Banking. This is going to be the Seventh year of the exam and hence the name IBPS Clerk CWE VII.
With the exam dates nearing and the rat race maintaining its pace, it is important to get the basics of the different topics that are asked in the exam, in place.
NOTIFICATION-IBPS CLERK 2017:
The date of exam has been released by IBPS Clerk VII. The online registration for the exam is to tentatively begin from last week of September 2017.

RECRUITMENT-IBPS CLERK 2017
The recruitment process involves two stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
Unlike other exams, IBPS Clerk gives 100% weightage to the marks secured in Mains Exam and there is No Interview Process involved for the final selection of candidates.
EXAM PATTERN : IBPS CLERK 2017
In order to ace the exam, it is important to know the exam pattern. The IBPS Clerk 2017 is an online exam divided into two stages:
Stage 1: IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam:
The Preliminary examination is an online examination covering the following areas and following this pattern:

To be able to clear the Preliminary exam, one has to clear the sectional cut offs of each section. The overall passing marks changes every year depending upon the difficulty level of the exam.
Stage 2: IBPS Clerk Mains Exam
After the hurdle of Preliminary Examination is crossed, one has to gear up for the Mains Examination. The pattern of the exam and the areas covered are as follows:

Note: The penalty for wrong answer is 1/4th of the total marks assigned for that question in both the Preliminary Exam Stage and Mains Exam Stage. However there are no penalties for un-attempted questions.
Final Score Calculation:
The final score for the IBPS Clerk exam is calculated in this way:
- Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam (Stage -1) will not be considered for selection.
- Candidates must qualify Stage-2, i.e. the Mains Examination to be eligible for final merit.
- The aggregate score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each category.
Candidates with top merit rank in each category are finally selected.
IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria:
There are two criteria for a candidate to be eligible to appear for the examination:
- Age Criteria: The age range is 20-28 years. The final criteria for IBPS Clerk Exam 2017 will be released along with the official notification.
- Educational Qualification: A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/Intermediate/ Graduation level. Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination.
SYLLABUS- IBPS CLERK 2017:
The IBPS Clerk Examination syllabus is exhaustive covering important topics from each subject. The Preliminary Exam consists of 3 sections:
- Reasoning
- English Language
- Numerical Ability
It is important to give due focus on each of these subjects so as to be able to clear the sectional cutoff.
In addition to the above mentioned subjects, Mains Examination includes the following two subjects:
- General Awareness
- Computer Knowledge
