An eligible candidate aspiring to join any of the participating Organisations as a Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee or in a similar post in that cadre is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process (CWE PO/MT-VII). The online examination will be conducted in two phases, preliminary and mains. Candidates who qualify in preliminary exams will have to appear in main examinations and shortlisted candidates in main examinations will be called for common interview to be conducted by participating organisations.

The IBPS PO exam is conducted in online mode and has a total duration of 1 hour. It is divided into three sections with a total of 100 questions and maximum marks of 100. While there is no negative marking for unattempted questions, for each wrong answer 0.25 marks are deducted. Candidates must clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam.

IBPS PO 2017 Mains Exam Pattern
The exam is conducted in online mode with a total duration of 140 minutes. It is divided into 5 sections with a total of 200 questions and maximum marks of 200. There is a sectional time limit for each section i.e. the sections must be attempted in the same order and the allotted time as mandated at the time of the exam. Similar to the preliminary exam there is no negative marks for unattempted questions, for each wrong answer 0.25 marks are deducted.

IBPS PO Short listing criteria for Provisional allotment process
The total marks allocated for the interview is 100. The minimum qualifying marks for the interview is not less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weight age (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination of IBPS PO 2017 and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed. A candidate should qualify both in the CWE (Main) and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on IBPS website.
