What is IBPS PO?
IBPS PO exam is conducted by the institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in various public sectors banks. IBPS was launched in 1975 and became an independent entity in 1984. It is set up by the banking industry. To get into public sector bank it is important for a candidate to pass IBPS exam in PO.
The Governing Board of IBPS consists of nominees from Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Finance Government of India, National Institute of Bank Management, representatives of public sector Banks, Insurance sector and academics.
IBPS conduct exams for recruitment to the post of Clerks, probationary officer (PO) and specialist officer (SO). Difficultly level differ according to the exam. IBPS announces each year positions in clerical, PO and SO posts in nationalized banks, State Bank and RRBs.
IBPS PO RECRUITMENT
The IBPS PO recruitment process is done in three phases:
Online Preliminary Exam,
Online Mains Exam, and
The candidate must qualify each process to get into next phase
IBPS PO Notification 2017 will be released by Institute of Banking Personnel in the month of July. The notification contains the detail about the eligibility criteria for the exam, exam dates, syllabus, vacancies, selection procedure etc. for IBPS 2017 Exam. IBPS PO online is now conducted but earlier it was offline paper. IBPS PO online is very easy and efficient.
Vacancy in IBPS 2017 in PO
Every year more than 20 lakh aspirant appear for the IBPS Bank PO examination to get the perks offered by the Public Sector Banks. According to last year’s statistics there were 9456 IBPS vacancies in PO. The expectation for this year is around 9000.
