Here are some tips which you must follow as a CMA aspirant-

PUSH YOURSELF: In order to achieve any goal,” Everyday ask yourself one question- If what you are doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tommorrow. If you don’t have belief and see yourself passing the CMA exam, it’ll be hard to stick to a study plan. So, understand what are your career goals and why you want to be a CMA and let that WHY be big enough of a reason to motivate you to achieve success in your exam.

MAKE A STUDY PLAN:  Make a well-thought-out study plan from the beginning which will save a lot of time and stress down the road. Develop a 12-week study plan for each part. Anything less than 12 weeks may not give you enough time to grasp every topic. Many candidates rush to the exam without proper preparation. Have patience to achieve success.

SCHEDULE YOUR STUDY DAILY: A common mistake many candidates make is to postpone their study time and study only on the weekends. Cramming for a day or two may give you a sense of accomplishment but does nothing for retaining things in mind for your future career. Studying small sets of study material each day makes the entire process lighter and manageable, and you will actually retain much more of what you study. My recommendation is to study with a solid CMA course for at least 2 to 3 hours a day and at least 6 to 8 hours on the weekends.

PRACTICE MOCK EXAMS: Instead of taking a mock exam after studying an entire part, take mock exams after each section. Do not move on to the next section until you have a good score of at least 80%. As you progress, this method will give you confidence and motivation while building momentum.

LIST OUT FORMULAS SEPARATELY: The most effective way to memorize a formula such as a financial ratio is to write it out many times. Plain and simple. Try to retain formulas by just looking at them would not work. Practice them by writing them out 10 to 20 times until it’s second nature. Doing so will help you remember them instantly on exam day.
