  1. The Make in India conference will be held in Bhubaneswar
  • The “Make in India” conference will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in December 2016.
  • The conference would be organized by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to attract investment in the state as well as in the country

2. Rani Nair has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)

  • Rani Singh Nair, a 1979-batch IRS officer of the income-tax cadre, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)
  • She succeeded Atulesh Jindal and will be in office till October 31, 2016. Earlier, she was a member of legislation and computerization department in the CBDT

3. Lewis Hamilton has won the 2016 Formula One German Grand Prix

  • Lewis Hamilton, a British Formula One Mercedes racing driver, has won the 2016 German Grand Prix title of Formula One
  • It is his 6th title of the 2016 season after Monaco Grand Prix, Canadian Grand Prix, Austrian Grand Prix, British Grand Prix and Hungarian Grand Prix

4. Luke Aikins became the first person in the world to jump and land without parachute, is belonged to United States

  • Skydiver Luke Aikins from United States has become the first person in the world to jump without a parachute and landed safely in a net in Simi Valley, southern California
  • He achieved this feat after successfully free falling from aeroplane from height of 25,000 feet (mid-tropospheric altitude) in 2-minutes into the 100x100ft net without a parachute or wingsuit

5. Kerala will launch its Anti Corruption Index to measure the graphs of corruption in all spheres of society

  • The Kerala Anti-corruption Index (KAI), the first of its kind in India, will be launched by the Kerala government under its “zero tolerance to corruption” policy
  • The initiative will have a set of proxy indicators to measure the graphs of corruption in all spheres of society
  • The programme will be implemented by the Kerala Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau The purpose of the index is to develop a durable and sustainable mechanism to check corruption, which is possible only by sensitizing and empowering general public

6. Patna Pirates kabaddi team won the 2016 STAR Sports-Pro Kabaddi League

  • The Patna Pirates has won the 4th edition of STAR Sports-Pro Kabaddi League by defeating Jaipur Pink Panthers by 37-29 score at Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, Telangana
  • With this win, Patna Pirates has become first Kabaddi team to won the title twice and the only at champions to have defended their title

7. NTPC commissions NP Kunta power project

  • NTPC Ltd has commissioned a 50 MW (1X50 MW) capacity solar photovoltaic power project of NP Kunta Ultra Mega Solar Power Project Stage-I at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh
  • With this, the installed capacity of NP Kunta Ultra Mega Solar Power Project Stage-I coming up Anantapur has touched 250 MW and that of NTPC Group now stands at 47,228 MWl

8. Indian Railways has recently tied up with MobiKwik to ensure food delivery in train coaches with e-cash payments

  • The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has recently tied up with MobiKwik, the Gurgaon-based mobile wallet company, to enable railway passengers to make e-cash payments on the IRCTC’s e-catering app “Food on Track”
  • The app allows passengers to book and get food from their preferred restaurants, delivered right at their train coaches
  • Apart from this, MobiKwik is also powering payments for IRCTC Connect Android App, which allows users to book railway tickets instantly
  • MobiKwik is a mobile wallet and online payment system where a user can store money to make mobile and DTH recharge, pay utility bills and shop using wallet with over 50,000 merchants

9. Syed Nayeemuddin has been conferred with the 2016 Mohun Bagan Ratna (jewel)

  • Syed Nayeemuddin, the former India football team captain, has been conferred with the Mohun Bagan FC’s prestigious Mohun Bagan Ratna (jewel) for 2016
  • With this, he became the 16th recipient of the prestigious award, which is bestowed upon a person for making a seminal contribution to the success of the club
  • Nayeemuddin is the only athlete to win the Arjuna Award and Dronacharya Award for his contribution to football both as a player and coach

10. Bhaskar Khulbe appointed as the new Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

  • Bhaskar Khulbe, a 1983 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre, has been appointed as the new Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • Previously, he was the additional secretary in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)

11. Novak Djokovic won the 2016 Rogers club title in the men’s single category

  • Novak Djokovic from Serbia has won the 2016 ATP Toronto Masters, also known as the Rogers club title in the men’s single category, in Toronto by defeating Kei Nishikori by 6-3, 7-5 in the final to clinch his 66th career title and 4th Canadian title
  • With this, he became the first player to clinch 30 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles

12. Parliament passes Indian Medical Council (Amendment Bill), 2016

  • The Parliament has passed Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2016 to conduct of uniform entrance examination for admission to all medical educational institutions
  • The bill seeks to replace the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2016 and its provisions will come into force retrospectively from May 24, 2016
  • It will be applicable for admission at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level
  • This provision will be applicable to state government seats in government and private medical institutions

13. Resolution for the renaming of Madras High Court passed

  • The Tamil Nadu Assembly has passed a unanimous resolution that the Madras High Court be renamed as Tamil Nadu High Court and not as High Court of Chennai as proposed by the Centre
  • The Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha by the Minister of Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad with an aim to modify the names of the High Court’s (HCs) of Bombay, Calcutta, and Madras
  • The High Courts of Bombay, Calcutta and Madras will be known as the High Courts of Mumbai, Kolkata and Tamil Nadu respectively

14. Simona Halep wins Rogers Cup women’s single

  • The 24-year old Romania’s Simona Halep has won the Rogers Cup women’s singles title after beating American Madison Keys 7-6, 6-3 in the final Montreal
  • This is her 14th WTA title. But overall this is her third title of the year. Simona has also won the titles in Bucharest and Madrid earlier this season

15. N Chandra honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at the 2016 Goa State Film Festival

  • N Chandra, the bollywood film-maker, will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at the 8th edition of Goa State Film Festival 2016, which is scheduled to be held on August 5-8, 2016
  • Chandra is known for his films such as Ankush, Pratighaat, Tezaab and Narasimha

16. China has been hit by severe tropical Typhoon Nida

  • The severe tropical typhoon Nida, also called Tropical Storm Carina in Philippines, has recently hit the China’s Guangdong Province
  • The gale-force wind with up to 150 km/hr has caused heavy rain followed the tropical typhoon
  • This is the strongest typhoon to hit the Pearl River Delta since 1983
  • It was caused by a tropical depression that had developed about 1,020 km to the east-southeast of Manila, Philippines
  • The cyclonic system was located within a favorable environment for development of cyclone with low vertical wind shear and very warm sea surface temperatures

  • Rajasthan has become the first Indian state to approve sewage and waste water policy
  • As per the policy, all district headquarters, heritage cities and cities in the state which have more than one lakh population will be included
  • In it, treated waste water will be used in irrigation and agricultural work. The requirement of next 30 years will be covered in this policy
  • It will be compulsory for every house in the state to connect with sewage system in those cities which have 100% sewage system in next 5 years

19. Anant Maheshwari appointed as the new President of Microsoft India

  • Technocrat Anant Maheshwari has been appointed as the new President of Microsoft India, a subsidiary of US based software giant Microsoft Inc
  • He will succeed Bhaskar Pramanik in March 2017
  • Maheshwari will be responsible for Microsoft’s entire product, service and support offerings across India

20. The World Economic Forum (WEF) India Economic Summit will be hosted in New Delhi

  • The World Economic Forum (WEF) India Economic Summit will be held in New Delhi on October 6-7, 2016
  • The theme of the summit is “Fostering an Inclusive India through Digital Transformation” and it will be attended by over 500 business and political leaders

  • India’s first underground museum will be opened at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on October 2, 2016
  • The museum showcases a collection of relics associated with each of the past presidents of India along with a range of vestiges reflecting upon the history of India’s freedom struggle
  • Approx Rs. 80 crores were spent in creating this museum, which took almost two years to complete

22. The world’s tallest girder rail bridge will come up in Manipur

  • Indian Railways will build India’s longest tunnel and world’s tallest girder rail bridge on the Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal new broad gauge railway line in Manipur
  • The 111-km long line already has 37 tunnels on it
  • The new tunnel will be 11.55 km long, more than the famous Pir Panjal tunnel on the Banihal-Qazigund line
  • The rail bridge with height of 141m will surpass the existing tallest bridge in Europe which has a height of 139m

23. Vivek Teja won the 2016 World Martial Arts championship (WMAC)

  • Cherupalli Vivek Teja, an International Martial artist from India, has won the World Martial Arts Championships (WMAC) in Sydney, Australia and became the World Karate Champion (All Styles)
  • He defeated Australian taekwondo Matthew Rose in the final to clinch the title

24. Youssef Chahed is the newly appointed Prime Minister of Tunisia

  • Youssef Chahed, the former local and regional affairs minister, has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Tunisia by the Tunisia’s President Beji Caid Essebsi
  • He succeeded Habib Essid, who lost vote of no-confidence in the parliament because of his handling of economic reforms and security
  • Chahed nomination is likely to be approved by a Parliamentary vote, as required. If Chahed wins the backing of parliament, he will be the Tunisia’s youngest premier since it won independence from France in 1956
  • He would also be Tunisia’s 7th Prime Minister in less than 6 years since the 2011 uprising that toppled longtime dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali

25. Sachet portal has been launched by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to curb illegal money pooling by firms

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently launched “Sachet” portal to curb illegal and unauthorized pooling of funds by unscrupulous firms
  • The portal “” will help public to obtain information about entities allowed to collect deposits
  • The portal will facilitate filing, tracking of complaints, besides providing information about whether any particular entity is registered with any regulator or is permitted to accept deposits

  • Sudhanshu Mani has been appointed as General Manager, Integral Coach Factory
  • Prior to this, he was Chief Mechanical Engineer, Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka Bengaluru Mani belongs to 1979 batch of Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME)

27. International Olympic Committee (IOC) included Five sports for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

  • The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has added 5 sports viz. baseball/softball, karate, skateboard, sports climbing and surfing to the sports programme for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
  • With this, the 2020 Tokyo Games will feature 33 sports and about 11,000 athletes, compared to the usual number of 28 sports and 10,500 athletes

28. Nita Ambani become the first Indian woman to join the International Olympic Committee

  • Nita Ambani, founder chairperson of Reliance Foundation and owner of the Mumbai Indians cricket team franchise, has been elected as an individual member of International Olympic Committee
  • With this, she became the first Indian woman to join the prestigious body which governs Olympic sports in the world
  • Nita is the only current active individual member of the IOC from India and will serve the world body till the age of 70

29. India’s first tiger cell will set up in Dehradun

  • India’s first tiger cell will set up at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) campus in Dehradun, Uttarakhand
  • A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and WII
  • The cell will house a database of tigers as well as DNA and stripes samples of the big cats from over 50 tiger reserves and will aid conservation efforts by preventing poaching and providing an update on tiger numbers

30. Tarun Ramadorai committee has been constituted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to study on household finance in India

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has constituted Dr. Tarun Ramadorai committee to study various facets of household finance in India and benchmark India’s position against both the peer countries and advanced countries
  • The committee will also study the reasons behind the deviation of financial allocations of Indian households like the large household allocation to gold
  • It will evaluate the design of new systems and the redesign of existing systems of incentives and regulations to encourage and enable better participation by Indian households in formal financial markets

  • IBM in partnership with Apple has launched a new global development hub at Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru
  • The hub mainly aims to help the clients in India complete digital mobility process platform

39. South India’s first Doppler weather radar inaugurated

  • ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar has inaugurated a ‘C Band Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar’ at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the first Doppler weather radar in Cherrapunji which was built by the ISRO and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) in May
  • This Doppler weather radar can provide advance information about storms, cyclones, and other severe weather conditions
  • The data from this radar would be available to India Meteorological Department (IMD) to supplement its weather predictions and also to researchers and user agencies

40. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated India’s International Footwear Fair

  • A three day long India’s International Footwear Fair (IIFF) has been launched by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on August 5th in New Delhi
  • This year around 263 companies from India and abroad are participating in the event

2. The 2017 Swachh Suvekshan has been launched by Minister of Urban Development

  • The Union Minister of Urban Development M.Venkaiah Naidu has recently launched Swachh Suvekshan-2017 project in New Delhi to assess and rank 500 cities based on levels of sanitation and efforts made by respective urban local bodies
  • It also aims to capture progress towards achieving Open Defecation Free status
  • Therefore, to promote people’s participation , the ministry has launched Swachhata Helpline ‘1969’ and Swachhata App
  • With this, citizens can seek information about the ways of participating in the cleanliness mission and can also enquire about the status of their applications for construction of toilets
  • Apart from this, ministry has also launched ‘Asli Tarakki’ campaign to highlight the need for construction of toilets and using them

3. As per the recently released RBI’s 3rd bi-monthly monetary policy review for FY 2016-17, the current repo rate is 6.5 %

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has kept policy rates unchanged in the recently released 3rd bi-monthly monetary policy review for FY 2016-17
  • The repo rate at which RBI lends to the system has been retained at 6.5 %, while the reverse repo rate which is paid to banks has been maintained at 6 %
  • The RBI has also kept the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) and Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) unchanged at 4.0 % and 21.25 %
  • The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate have been kept at 7%

  • The Maharashtra Government has recently launched “Quit India 2-from Swaraaj to Suraaj” initiative at the historic August Kranti Maidan (or Gowalia Tank ) in Mumbai to mark the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the 1942 Quit India Movement
  • The initiative would emphasize on freedom from illiteracy, farmer suicide, wastage of water, addiction among youth and corruption
  • The August Kranti Maidan is the same park where Mahatma Gandhi launched the movement of disobedience on August 8, 1942 and gave the clarion call of ‘Do or Die’ for independence from Britishers

6. NTPC become the first-ever Indian quasi-sovereign to issue a Masala bond on London Stock Exchange (LSE)

  • The National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), an Indian public sector company, has recently listed the world’s first Indian green Masala bond on the London Stock Exchange (LSE)
  • With this, NTPC has become the first-ever Indian quasi-sovereign to issue a Masala bond on LSE
  • The bond is Climate Bonds Initiative certified and will be listed on London Stock Exchange’s green bonds segment
  • NTPC will invest the proceeds of the green Masala bond in the renewable energy market as it seeks to add more wind and solar power projects to its portfolio to support the Indian government’s ambition to generate 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022

7. M. S. Subbulakshmi will be honoured at the United Nations on India’s 70th Independence Day

  • M. S. Subbulakshmi, legendary Indian carnatic vocalist, will be honoured at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on India’s 70th Independence Day (August 15, 2016) To pay homage to Subbulakshmi’s birth centenary, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman will perform at UNGA in New York, United States
  • With this, Rahman will become only the 2nd Indian artist after Subbulakshmi to perform at the UN after she was invited for a performance 50 years ago
  • The concert will be organized by the Indian mission in coordination with Chennai-based Sankara Nethralaya, a not-for-profit eye institution, at the UNGA

  • The 5-day event “Tomorrow’s India Global Summit” will be held in Seoul, South Korea. It is an initiative of the Global Social India Foundation to provide a platform to offer expansion and investment opportunities for Indian start-up community, MSMEs and corporate businesses
  • It also helps students and educationists to learn, adapt and discover the global education system
  • The agenda for the summit includes panel discussions, sector specific company presentations, case study by various global conglomerates and networking dinners for the business delegates

9. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has recently signed pact with IIT to develop technology to construct maintenance free highways in India

  • The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IIT-Kharagpur for research project to develop technology to construct long lasting maintenance free highways in India
  • IIT-Kharagpur will develop ‘Paneled Cement Concrete Pavements’ for highways. The duration of the research project is 3 years

10. “Gaofen-3” an earth observation satellite has been successfully launched by China

  • China has successfully launched “Gaofen-3” an earth observation satellite into orbit by the Long March 4C rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in Shanxi Province
  • The Gaofen-3 is China’s first low-orbit remote sensing satellite and is capable of capturing high-resolution images accurate down to about 1m
  • It will be used for disaster warning, weather forecasting, water resource assessments and the protection of maritime rights
  • The satellite has a lifespan of 8 years and will operate as an all-weather 24-hour observation platform

11. Mihir Shah committee was formed to restructure the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Central Groundwater Board (CGWB)

  • The Mihir Shah committee, which was formed to restructure the water agencies, is recently in news because of its recommendations to set up new National Water Commission (NWC) As per the recommendations, NWC will be an autonomous body and will have a countrywide base and mandate and greater human-power
  • The committee has also warned against the perils of interlinking of rivers and dependence on large dam projects
  • Beside this, the committee has also suggested that there is no need to restructure water agencies viz. Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Central Groundwater Board (CGWB)
  • The committee was set up by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, which has submitted its report in July 2016

  • Arun Shrivastava, MD & CEO of Syndicate Bank has launched new products to ease customer transactions
  • The  first products launched by the bank was the fund transfer based on ‘Aadhaar Number through NUUP’, using an ordinary mobile phone without internet connection
  • While the other one was ‘Fund Transfer through IMPS’ at any branch for instantaneous credit to any bank account

13. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar becomes first Indian to qualify for Vault Finals

  • Dipa Karmakar, the Indian Gymnast, created history by becoming the first Indian gymnast to enter the Olympic final at the Rio Olympic Centre
  • The 22-year-old qualified for the final round in the Individual vault final of artistic gymnastics after finishing eighth on the standings
  • Competing in the third sub-division, Dipa had an average score of 51.665. She scored 14.850 by performing her much-vaunted ‘Produnova’ vault cleanly on the vault, 11.666 on the uneven bars, 12.866 in balance beam and 12.033 in floor exercises
  • While American Simone Biles, the three-time world all-round champion topped the charts with a score of 16.050

14. Irom Sharmila ends 16-year-long fast

  • Human rights activist Irom Chanu Sharmila (44) today has ended her 16-year-long fast against Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 and was granted bail by an Imphal court on Rs.10,000 personal bond
  • However, She will be examined in court again on August 23
  • Irom had earlier announced that she will contest 2017 Manipur Assembly election

15. Abhijeet Gupta retains Commonwealth Chess championship crown

  • Grandmaster and former world junior champion Abhijeet Gupta has added another feather to his cap by retaining the Commonwealth Chess championship crown. As the title was also won earlier by him in 2015
  • This is the 20th Commonwealth Chess championship and was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka

28. No Rail Budget from next fiscal

29. E-verifying without net banking

  • After Punjab National Bank and United Bank of India, more banks are likely to soon start a facility wherein an account holder can verify his income tax return on e-filing site even without having netbanking
  • Electronic Verification Code (EVC) can be generated by pre-validating the bank account on the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department
  • CBDT said EVC can be generated by pre-validating a Demat Account on the e-filing portal. NSDL and CDSL have launched this facility which will facilitate the account holders to e-verify their return

30. Fifth Generation signs pact with Anna University

  • Fifth Generation Technologies, a multi-national research and innovation company with specialisation in building “real time intelligence” solutions and products to the manufacturing industry, has entered into an agreement with Anna University, Chennai, for conducting research to arrive at a useful prediction of the remaining life of critical equipment that are working in high temperature environments

  • In all, 82 Gallantry Awards have been awarded this year to armed forces personnel and members of paramilitary forces
  • They include one Ashok Chakra, 14 Shaurya Chakras, 63 Sena Medals (Gallantry), two Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry) and two Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry)

21. SBI approves merger with associates

  • State Bank of India (SBI) has approved share swap ratio to merge 5 associate banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) with itself.
  • In the swap ratio an acquiring company will offer its own shares in exchange for the target company’s shares during a merger or acquisition.

As per the approved merger ratios for each of the banks, the scheme provides for allotment of:

  • SBI will give 28 of its shares for every 10 shares held of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur
  • It will give 22 of its shares for every 10 shares held of State Bank of Mysore
  • The lender will give 22 of its own shares for every 10 shares held of State Bank of Travancore
  • SBI will give 4,42,31,510 shares with face value of Re. 1 for every 100 crore equity shares of Bhartiya Mahila Bank

  • Andhra Pradesh Police has launched DNA Index System (DIS), the first-of-its-kind initiative that allows generation of DNA profiles from live samples like saliva and blood stains
  • The system uses the latest DNA technology tool called RapidHIT developed by IntegenX of USA
  • The DIS allows generation of DNA profiles using buccal swabs, blood stains, saliva and other live samples in less than two hours

  • The world’s first self-driving taxi service has been launched by Singapore-based nuTonomy, an autonomous vehicle software startup
  • The company has started this service with small 6 cars. During the trial, the cars – modified Renault Zoe and Mitsubishi i-MiEV electrics – have a driver in front who is prepared to take back the wheel and a researcher in back who watches the car’s computers
  • Each car is fitted with six sets of Lidar – a detection system that uses lasers to operate like radar – including one that constantly spins on the roof
  • There are also two cameras on the dashboard to scan for obstacles and detect changes in traffic lights

21. RBI asks banks to provide loans to women SHGs in rural areas at 7%

  • RBI has asked banks to provide loans to women self-help groups in rural areas at 7% per annum, as per the government’s revised guidelines for the current financial year
  • The Reserve Bank said in a notification that all women self-help groups (SHGs) will be eligible for interest subvention on credit up to three lakh rupees at 7% per annum under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission in 250 districts

  • A travel insurance cover of up to Rs10 lakh can be availed while booking a train ticket online by paying less than one rupee from 31 August
  • A person booking a train ticket through the IRCTC website will be able opt for travel insurance cover for a premium of 92 paise only from 31 August
  • Indian Railways subsidiary IRCTC has assigned the task to three private firms are Shriram General Insurance, ICICI Lombard General Insurance and Royal Sundaram General Insurance

23. “DiGiSENSE platform” has been launched by Mahindra & Mahindra to enable fleet owners to track their vehicles

  • Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has launched a new digital technology platform “DiGi SENSE 1.0” to enable fleet owners to track their Mahindra vehicles in real time basis
  • The new digital platform will be able to empower owners, fleet operators, drivers, dealers and service teams to access vital information about their vehicles, trucks, tractors or construction equipment on a real-time basis from the driver’s seat and afar
  • The new platform will enable customers to digitally build knowledge about the performance and location of their vehicles
  • With this, Mahindra has become the first Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in India to integrate its product line-up onto a cloud-based technology platform

34. The Union Government has recently approved PRS scheme for foreign investors

  • The Union Government has recently approved the scheme for grant of Permanent Residency Status (PRS) to foreign investors to encourage foreign investment in India and facilitate Make in India Programme
  • As per the scheme, the PRS will be granted for a period of 10 years with multiple entry This can be reviewed for another 10 years if the PRS holder has not come to adverse notice The scheme will be applicable only to foreign investors fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions, his/her spouse and dependents
  • In order to avail this scheme, the foreign investor will have to invest at least Rs. 10 crore in over 18 months or Rs.25 crore in 36 months, apart from generating employment for a minimum of 20 resident Indians every financial year
