GATE 2017 Result has been declared by IIT Roorkee. Now GATE Candidates can check GATE Result 2017 here. Earlier IIT Roorakee was conducted GATE 2017 in 8 sessions on February 4, 5, 11 and 12, 2017 at more than 680 designated test centres across India for 23 papers for admissions to M.E./M. Tech/Ph.D at the IITs, the NITs, the CFITs and other universities in India. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam is jointly monitored and administered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and 7 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The GATE result 2017 or GATE Score Card was announced on 26th March 2017. IIT Roorkee had released the GATE 2017 answer key on February 26 and had allowed candidates to challenge the answer key through GOAPS from March 3 till 6, 2017. Previously GATE 2017 Result Date has announced officially and now you can get the GATE Results.

GATE Result 2017

Check GATE Result 2017 at appsgate.iitr.ac.in. Today, IIT Roorkee has declared the result of GATE 2017 with score card, Topper Rank, number of candidates who appeared in this paper and marks out of 100. Just Enter enrolment ID/ email address and password to get GATE 2017 Result. The GATE result 2017 will be announced for only those candidates, who will score equal to or more than the specified qualifying marks as per their category. Each subject of GATE 2017 have different qualifying marks. Candidates can check their GATE 2017 result in online mode only. The score will be valid for three years.

 

The procedure to check GATE 2017 result is given below:

  • Visit the official website of GATE.
  • Click on ‘GATE Result’ tab.
  • Enter Registration Number, Roll Number and Date of Birth in the fields provided.
  • Ensure correctness of the entered credentials.
  • After verification, click on ‘Submit’ button.

Details displayed on GATE 2017 Result:

  • Name of the candidate,
  • GATE 2017 Registration Number
  • Examination Paper in which the candidate has appeared
  • Marks out of hundred
  • Qualifying marks for the discipline

GATE 2017 Score Card

The score card of GATE 2017 has been released on March 26 along with declaration of result. Candidates can download their GATE scorecard 2017 till May 26. The examination authority will not issue hard copies of the scorecards; therefore candidates have to download it within the prescribed dates.

Note: In case any candidate requires a soft copy of their GATE Score Card after May 26, they can get it by paying a fee of Rs.500 (five hundred only) on the GOAPS portal till December 31.

The GATE Score Card 2017 has released for all candidates, who have secured greater than or equal to the qualifying mark as per their category. The score of GATE 2017 will be calculated based on the actual marks obtained by the candidate for single session papers and normalised marks for multi-session papers.

The GATE 2017 scorecard will have following details-

  • Name of candidate
  • Registration number of candidates
  • Gender
  • Name of Examination Paper
  • Marks secured by candidates out of 100
  • Qualifying marks
  • All India Rank in GATE 2017 (paper in which the candidate appeared)
  • GATE 2017 score

Based on the GATE 2017 score, candidates can either apply for M.E./M.Tech/ Ph.D. Admissions in IITs/NITs/CFITs, and other universities in India or recruitment purpose in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like BHEL, GAIL, ONGC, IOCL, etc. Only those candidates who have obtained equal to or more than the specified cutoff score (as announced by the PSU) can apply for the declared vacancies. While selecting candidates for academic programmes or recruitment, the concerned authority may take interview, written aptitude test or group discussion apart from the GATE 2017 score.

GATE 2017 Cutoff

The cutoff score of GATE 2017 is the minimum marks that must be secured by candidates to qualify the entrance exam. The GATE cutoff score is meant to delimit the number of candidates and to select only those who have secured qualifying marks as per their category. Based on the GATE cut off 2017, various PSUs, as well as IITs, NIITs & CFITs select candidates for jobs or academic programmes.

Last year, a total of 8,18,850 candidates appeared, out of which as many as 1,35,392 candidates qualified the national level exam. The table below shows previous year’s GATE cut off Score for popular papers.

GATE cut off for IITs: GATE score will be the basis for selecting candidates for M.Tech admission in IITs. Candidates who wish to pursue masters of technology from IITs can check GATE cut off for M. GATE 2017 Answer Key

The answer key challenge option has been closed now. Candidates could challenge the GATE Answer Key from March 3 till March 6, 2017. The official answer key of GATE 2017 had been released on February 26 by IIT Roorkee. The GATE answer key lists the correct answers for the questions asked in the exam. Candidates, who have appeared in the GATE exam, can check and download the GATE answer key as per their discipline and session. After downloading, candidates can match their answers with the GATE 2017 official answer key. In case they find any answer that they find objectionable, they can write to IIT Roorkee and challenge the same. The dates to challenge the GATE answer key are from March 3 (10:00 hours) till March 6 (10:00 hours). The decision of the authorities at IIT Roorkee will be final and binding.

GATE 2017 Counselling Process

GATE 2017 will not have any common counselling as it is an aptitude test designed to test the capacity and knowledge of the applicants. Each institute will conduct separate counselling procedure for qualified candidates. They must check admission notifications of the institutes they wish to apply for.

  • The NITs will conduct the admission procedure through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Admissions (CCMT) 2017.

PSU Recruitment through GATE 2017

Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) who consider GATE 2017 score for recruitment has announced their application process. Candidates who are interested in PSUs Recruitment through GATE 2017 have to fill the application form of respective PSUs as per their choice. Candidates who will secure required cut off score as declared by PSUs will be called for further rounds of the selection process.

GATE 2017 Admit Card

The admit card of GATE 2017 has been released by IIT Roorkee on January 4. Candidates could download GATE admit card 2017 from the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) window till February 12, 2017. To download the GATE admit card, candidates have to enter their enrolment ID or registered email ID, password and captcha. It must be noted that they must take colour printout of admit card and carry it to the exam centers along with any one of the original identification proofs including Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, Valid College ID, Employee identification card and Driving License, but it necessary to carry that ID proof whose information was entered in GATE application form 2017. For International candidates, only a valid Passport/Government issued ID/College ID/ Employee ID will be accepted as the recognized identification. Also get GATE 2017 Result Date from this article.
