Every Institute has different criteria for determining the cutoff for different category and specialisation wise. Candidates who fail to secure the required cutoff are not called for the counselling process. For determining the Cutoff admission authority will consider a number of factors related to examination, including a number of candidates seeking admission to specific programme and number of seats available. If someone has cleared the cutoff it is not compulsory that he/she will get a seat in any institute, the candidates will have to go through the further process and show their potential in GDs or Personal Interviews. After clearing these hurdles, they will secure a seat in centrally funded institutes like IITs, IISC Bangalore etc.The GATE 2018 cutoff is not available now, so candidates can instead check the cutoff of GATE for CE 2017 and gauge the probable score required to get entry into IITs or IISC, Bangalore.
