 UPSC Recruitment Procedure

The results for UPSC Civil Services Exams are declared within a week after the interviews. Which however is then followed by a step by step UPSC Recruitment process-

Stage 1: Foundation Training

To begin with the training, all probationers are made familiar with some key aspects of our country. Wherein, they are given fundamental training on the constitutional, political, legal and socio-economic framework of India. Also, this training helps the probationers work in coordination with each other, as trainees across departments (IAS/IPC/IFS) are trained together. This training happens in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration(LBSNAA). It lasts for 15 weeks.

Stage 2: Professional Training (Phase 1)

Here the probationers learn the real job skills, which are in accordance to their profile. In fact, this training is more practical and application oriented in nature. It lasts for about 26 weeks.

Stage 3: District Training

Subsequently, in this stage, the on-job training of the probationers is taken to the district level. Here, they are majorly trained on administrative skills. Wherein, the probationers are required to complete all the assignments doing field studies at the district level. Such hands-on training help them understand the various aspects of administration in a very practical manner. This training lasts for around a year. It is a critical part of UPSC Recruitment and training.

Stage 4: Professional Training (Phase 2)

Here, in phase-2 of the professional training, probationers consolidate their understanding from Foundational, Professional and District Training. Therefore, it is more like summarizing the whole training process before they take up the actual job.
